New Day

Had to take Murphy, one of our dogs, to the vet yesterday. He got into a fight with our other dog and I had to separate them. I tossed Murphy out the back door and he must have landed funny and was a little slow moving. By the time we got to the vet he had gotten much better, wagging his tail, and being friendly. He isn't jumping much yet, but I am sure that the $73 beef flavored pain meds will help that.

 

Football meeting went well last night, I think we might go the route of P90X!

 

My keyboarding students haven't started blogging yet, hopefully next week.

 

PSA-Don't put sketchy looking pictures up where everyone can see them and draw assumptions.

Blogging Guidelines

Here are some basic guidelines to follow. This list is good, but is not finite. There can be and are other guidelines when blogging. Let's try this out!
In working with this blog and each of our other webspaces all  students need to ensure that they follow these important guidelines. They are designed to make sure that you enjoy these spaces.
•    Only ever use your first name or a nickname when you are writing on this or other blogs or wikis
•    Never use any other student’s last name
•    Never post any personal information–such as your home phone number or home address on this or any other blog or wiki
•    Never share any of you usernames or passwords with anyone and never log in as another student
•    Always tell your parents or teacher right away if you come across anything that makes you feel uncomfortable
•    Remember the “grandma rule” that anything you put on the internet could be read by your grandmother so only write things you could say to the nicest of grannies
•    Be a good online citizen and never write or post anything that could hurt anyone else
•    Always check with an adult if someone asks for your phone number or to meet you
•    Never make arrangements to meet anyone over the internet without telling your parents
•    Make sure you publish only your own work. Don’t under any circumstances use other people’s work and call it your own
•    Make sure that you read over your writing before you post it to check the spelling and that it reads okay.

The Beginning

This is the creation of an idea from one of my Keyboarding 2 students. She was tired of typing straight from the textbook. Honestly, I don't blame her, because some of the topics are nonsense or irrelevant. I have a couple blogging books from teacher past that I thought that we can still type, but make it about the individual. So here we go! Hopefully my students can get some followers with discussions of real life problems, celebrations, struggles, and teenage experiences. This will be one venting area that comes from them, school appropriate of course!
